The Easy Way to Get ISO 45003 Psychosocial Risk Management Certification
The International Standards Organization released ISO 45003, Occupational health and safety management – Psychological health and safety at work – guidelines for managing psychological risks, in 2021. The ISO is a respected independent non-governmental organization that develops international standards for everything from manufacturing to work health and safety. ISO standards are the gold standard for certification in work health and safety, corporate and business compliance. Anyone can achieve ISO certification using the Safe Work Psychosocial Hazard Code of Practice and evidence-based hazard controls developed using behavior change science. This is because the Code of Practice complies with ISO 45003.
In 2022 the Safe Work Psychosocial Hazard Code of Practice required businesses to develop their own control solution to eliminate conflict, discrimination and job design hazards. It does not tell businesses what those controls are. That’s why Empathyse has developed Workplace Bullying Solutions to provide you with policy, training, and contracts that control those psychosocial hazards in compliance with ISO 45003. With access to these online controls, you can have the resources you need to stop workplace bullying and comply with directors' personal obligations under Work Health and Safety laws.
To be successful, the controls need to be practical. The training videos conveniently take about 40 minutes for each staff member and less than an hour for supervisors to encourage positive behaviour rather than identify every bad behaviour that needs to be stopped. Videos provide all the instructions for human resource management implementation, including consultation with the work health and safety committees, as well as a short 5-minute induction video for visitors. There is access to a full textbook to answer more detailed questions about the training, if needed. Employees can test their knowledge with a short quiz and get their certificate of completion signed by their supervisor. Supervisors have access to a short supplementary employment contract to reinforce employees' existing obligation to a psychological work health and safety duty of care. Finally, human resource managers can implement and disseminate the positive behaviour policy to all staff. The positive behaviour policy, contracts and training are designed to seamlessly complement your existing human resource policy and employment contracts.
Empathyse helps you implement the psychosocial controls required under work health and safety law to prevent workplace bullying. Meeting ISO 45003 certification works to protect directors and business owners from personal liability for psychological injury caused by workplace bullying.
